Dr. - I was wondering if it is normal for a 4 year old to have a vaginal discharge. She has had this for over a year now and we have taken her to her doctor and he sayed it is normal as long as she had no burning or itching with it, which she does not. It is the same discharge that a normal adult woman would have. I was just wondering what your thought was on this? Should i be taking her back to the doctor or just ignore it? Thanks, aaamom

Hi,

It is mormal to have discharge. It usually comes from something localized such as irritation from urine, bubble baths, wiping back to front, or just wiping too hard. You can try hydrocortisone cream or you can leave it alone.
