I have a 41/2 year old that weighs 34 pounds and we have a hard time getting him to eat anything. He is very skinny but has a pot belly, this is nothing new but a friend just asked me about it and now I am concerned. What causes this?

It just has to do with the fact that the abdominal muscles are not tight at that age.
