anyone have a good daycare they know of in the Sugar Land area? one that is understanding of children with minimal special needs such as adhd/anxiety?

i don't know what part of Sugar Land you live in, but my son goes to Park Point Montessori on Hwy 6 and West Airport--they are awesome. My son is can be very anxious too and they do a great job with all the kids. When I was looking for places the owner told me "we don't give up on kids". I recommend them if you live by them. We moved from close to them out to Greatwood, but I've kept Arie there because he learns so much and is doing wonderfully.

Arie will be there two years in Feb. He was at an in-home daycare prior to that and was VERY clingy, making himself throw up, crying when I took him etc.. I really think he was bored. I checked out the Kids R Kids that is right there also, and it wasn't for us, went to Park Point and the owner sat with me for over an hour while I discussed my concerns, cryed, and yes, she said that "we don't give up on kids". I don't know how old your son is, but Arie started with Ms. Molly, a very nice Asian lady, and now he's up to next class with Ms. Sophia, a highly experience, very nice, Indian lady. Most of the teachers there are Indian, in fact my son, who is white, is really a minority, but he is thriving. Lots of my friends tell me how smart he is and that there child wasn't doing the things Arie is at his age. I fully expect him to be reading this year, he'll be 4 in Sept.
I like the montessori method. Arie is in class with some younger and some as old as 5 in his class. He learns what the older kids are learning--knows all his states, continents, days of the week, and write his own name, all letter sounds etc...and they treat it like school--school in the morning, then after lunch and nap time, it's more activity time. Arie had a hard time adjusting to wearing the uniform--age 3 and up wear kakhi pants/short and a green polo. He hates buttons (no clue why) and the polo has buttons, so I would bring the shirt every day and put it in his cubby and they are the ones that got him to wear it--now it's a non-issue.
