I read the box and although it nowhere says fortified or anything of that nature, the ingredients list has a calcium additive. So I gues mostly it isn't natural calcium. My biggest concern though is it leading to constipation. Beth couldn't tollerate soy cause the proteins are so similar to cows milk. With her we had switched to lacto free no improvement, to soy no improvement, to rice big improvement. So even if Camerons trouble is strictly the dairy, it would be easier to only buy one milk so I am trying to figure out about the almond for beth as well. Since we are still treating the constipation with cameron I was wanting to find out if giving him almond milk was counterproductive. But I am beginning to think the answer doesnt exist. I would just have to try to know. And well I dont want to cause more problems so we will stick with rice for her. and keep an eye on cameron's consumption of it for now.

That's the thing, hey. What causes constipation in one may not in another. Generally speaking, nuts don't really cause constipation because of the amount of fat in them.

How is he on MacDonald's? I know that cleans quite a few people out.

You could try a salmon oil caplet...pierce it open, and put it in some food you feed him. That might keep thing regular. You can ask Dr. B what he thinks about that. I don't know if they smell...or taste bad, but for an adult 3-1g capsules a day goes a long way to prevent heart disease, too.

HTH.

he doesnt actually consume much at any of the burger joints. He likes chik fila but mostly eats grilled chicken and maybe a fry or 2 and sunflower seeds so that wouldn't work. We are getting there though...i think. Once I figured out that he was hiding the cups i was giving him in the morning with his milk of magnesia mixed in. He had another hard bm and i figured i guess we needed to go back to the full dose of MOM and then i found all his morning sippy cups for 3 days hidden in the play room. I knew he had lost them...had no idea he wasn't drinking them but was hiding them.

Well...that would explain part of not being able to go! That lack of fluid is enough to perpetuate the problem (I'm sure you know that )They are SMART little critters, aren't they? I still haven't figured out how anyone gets a toddler to take senokot.

Oh...and the almond milk...if it's processed with calcium, plus it being a good source to begin with...that's great. If the label says 20% of the recommended daily allowance of Ca...it's likely based on an adult diet of 600 to 750 mg a day. So...he can probably meet his calcium requirements, with adding things like broccoli, and part of a tums...with just 2 1/2 cups a day.

GOOD LUCK! Here's to regularity!
